Build decision infrastructure
for the people doing the work.
MAIA is a small team of operators-turned-founders, engineers, and designers building the layer between operational signal and accountable action. If you’ve worked in operations and wished the tools were better, that’s the wedge we’re building on.
Six principles that apply to every offer we make.
Operators first
We were operators before we built MAIA. We hire people who've been on the receiving end of bad decisions, not just people who can ship a model.
Public artifacts
Changelog public. Research public. Founder essays public. Hiring publicly. We don't announce, we publish.
Slow hiring, fast firing
We move slow on hiring and fast on what's not working. Wrong AE = 6 months of pipeline that never closes. We'd rather be patient than rebuild.
Disqualify aggressively
Better to lose 9 deals fast than slow-walk one bad fit. Better to pass on a candidate than hire to fill a seat.
Sandbox before production
Every connector demos before any real credential changes hands. Every hire ships work before they get hired. Trust is earned through receipts.
Human-first AI
We're building AI that gives every operator the judgment of their best operator. Not AI that replaces them. If you're building for the latter, MAIA isn't your shop.
The hires we’re actually making.

Own the platform. MAIA already exists — 146,500 lines of TypeScript across web app, decision agents, ontology, and a working enterprise demo. You inherit a working product, lock down architecture for the next 100x of scale, and own the technical roadmap as we move from pilots to ARR.
- Own the full technical stack: Next.js front-ends, decision-agent layer, multi-source data fusion pipeline, decisions ledger, ontology graph
- Set architecture for the next phase: containerized deployment, multi-tenant data isolation, real-time fusion pipelines that scale to enterprise loads
- Hire and lead the first 4–8 engineers across platform, ML/AI, and integrations (we have a CIPO trademark and the core in place — you scale the team)
- Drive the SOC 2 + sovereign-cloud path so we can sell into regulated enterprise and public-sector customers
- Partner with the CEO on product strategy, customer pilots, and roadmap — the platform vision is shared, not delegated
- 10+ years building production software, 5+ leading engineering teams (3+ at staff/principal/head-of-eng level)
- Shipped a multi-tenant SaaS or data-platform product end-to-end, including the 0→1 phase
- Hands-on credible: you can still PR your way through a refactor, not just review it
- Strong opinion on at least two of: distributed systems, real-time data fusion, agentic AI architectures, audit-grade lineage, BMS/SCADA/MES integrations
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Regulated-industry or sovereign-cloud experience (data residency, compliance posture, audit-grade systems)
- Built or scaled a decisions/workflow engine, anomaly-detection pipeline, or graph-based reasoning system
- Founder DNA — you've been first or second engineer at a startup that hit ≥$10M ARR
- Open-source contributions in AI infra, data fusion, or agent frameworks

Founding Account Executive
Take MAIA's pilot motion to ARR. Founder-led handoffs, real press footprint to open doors, integration moat that genuinely sells itself when scoped right.
- Own the full pilot motion, discovery → demo → security review → MSA → first decision in production
- 50 named accounts across operations-heavy verticals, workforce, facilities, field service, transit, public sector, and adjacent industries with messy data and high-stakes decisions
- Outbound prospecting against your own pipeline, we'll start it together; you'll inherit it
- First references and case studies that fund our Series A
- 3–7 years enterprise SaaS sales, ideally vertical SaaS or AI infrastructure (workforce, operations, ITSM, data platforms, or industry verticals)
- At least one closed deal > $200k ARR in last 24 months you can walk through end to end
- Comfort with VPs of Operations, IT, Procurement; ability to talk credibly about integrations + audit trails
- Disqualifies aggressively, would rather lose 9 deals fast than slow-walk one bad fit
- Operator background (you've worked in the industries we sell to)
- Existing network in our target ICPs
- Done a founding sales hire before

Solutions Engineer
Make the integration moment land. Translate the prospect's tenant, their auth, their compliance posture, into a working pilot in under three weeks.
- Pre-sales technical demos against the prospect's actual data shape
- Pilot scoping: connect the prospect's source systems (ServiceNow, Microsoft Graph, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, vertical platforms) to MAIA's sandbox runtime → graduate to real
- Technical security review: SOC 2 questionnaires, DPA support, custom architecture diagrams
- Hand-off to customer success once first decision lands in production
- 4+ years SE/SA at a technical SaaS company
- Hands-on with 3+ of: ServiceNow REST, Microsoft Graph, SAP OData, Workday APIs, Salesforce APIs, OAuth/SAML auth, REST/SOAP enterprise integrations
- Comfort writing Python or JavaScript well enough to debug a connector setup live on a screen-share
- Patience to walk a CIO through audit-log lineage three times in three different ways
- Worked at a ServiceNow, Workday, SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft partner
- SOC 2 audit experience (auditor- or company-side)
- Shipped a customer-facing connector to production
